Medication abortion
To give credit where credit is due, modern medicine had not completely betrayed women (yet). The easiest and most effective way to have a DIY at-home abortion is through the use of the abortion pill kit. The kit contains one tablet of mifepristone, which is blocks progesterone and kills the growth, and 4 pills of misoprostol, which cause your body to expel the contents of your uterus. The sooner you take them, the better. Taken days after your missed period, the difference between a period and a miscarriage is non-existent. The longer you wait, the worse it becomes. It is not recommended to take after 12 weeks of pregnancy (but still works up to 15 relatively safely). That is why they try to push legislature to delay you receiving care every step they get - to make you suffer more. They know no woman "changes her mind" while waiting, she just gets worse side effects the longer she waits. Some housekeeping rules: 1 do not use the herbal method more than 14 days in a row, 2 do not use the essential oils or exceed the dosages listed in the resources provided above, and 3 be sure to take the herbs every 4 hours waking once at night for maximum effect.
The best time to begin is after ovulation and before your missed period if you feel you might be pregnant. Your first line of defense is Vitamin C (pure Ascorbic acid without bioflavonoids or rosehips), which can be combined together with Dong Quai (Angelica Sinesis) and Parsley (petroselinum crispum) tea. You may also insert the parsley intravaginally to help ripen the cervix. If no bleeding occurs and you are at the date your period should have started, discontinue the vitamin C and add more strong herbs to the tea: Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris), Pennyroyal (hedeoma pulegoides) (tincture or decoction - NOT the essential oil, which is poisonous if ingested), Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides), and Black Cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa). If you don't have access to all of them, it is OK. Mugwort and Pennyroyal are interchangeable so you need either one or the other. If you have to choose between Blue and Black Cohosh, choose Blue. The most effective combination is Pennyroyal and Blue Cohosh added to the Dong Quai and parsley you were already taking. In the mean time there are a few dietary foods you can ingest to help clear your innards. Green Papaya (Carica papaya), unripe Pineapple (Ananas comosus), Ginger root (Zinzibar Officinalis), and Parsley (petroselinum crispum) make a great gut and uterine clearing smoothy, which you can have throughout the process without concerns for toxicity.
Mechanical Abortion pseudo D&C at home
If the herbal method above had not worked in 14 days, it will never. But hopefully by that time your cervix is relaxed enough to mechanically remove the fetus without any pain and just mild discomfort. Here is where modern technology proves to be more helpful than the resources women had back in the olden days. Please do not use a coat hanger, or anything metal, as that might perforate your uterus and cause massive bleeding, infection, and even death. Instead we will show you how to build your own pseudo D&C machine at home that can be used either alone or with a partner. If you have a person that can help you, there is already a complete device called a Manual Vacuum Aspirator that is used for this very purpose in 3rd world countries with no electricity (or USA, as it is 3rd world for women now). The autoclave version is the one you want because it is sterile (and you could re-use the cannula if you boil them or use 91% Isopropyl alcohol prior to re-use). There are a few draw-backs to this device, the main one being that you only have a syringe worth of air to create the vacuum pressure and you would need to re-insert the cannulas from smallest one to largest one gradually, and the second one being that you really need another person to be able to pull on the syringe to create the vacuum. The cannulas themselves are indispensable, and are hard to find separately (available in bulk here https://amzn.to/3BMhA6N). The Karman type cannula has a rounded tip to avoid uterine perforation and ease insertion and side slits that help scrape the inside of the uterine lining.
If you are alone and no one can help, you can use an oral irrigator (water pick) with a large tank capacity and a UV sterilizer for the tips. Here is the best example: https://amzn.to/40kG1S3. We recommend saline water as salt water had been used historically for abortion (since salt does to the fetus what it does to a slug, and is a deterrent to bacterial infection). If you are doing this, take pain medicine and don't overdo it on the salt as it will sting you at high concentrations. Insert the canula into the cervix pointing to your belly button from the inside, and make sweeping motions to dislodge the fetus from the uterine wall. You may remove the canula when you start feeling full and let the water drain out. Repeat the process as needed until the bleeding begins, but do not use more than one tank.

There is a major draw-back to this method as you will need to rely on yourself to regulate the pressure of the suction. Do not use a shop vac that hooks up directly to the bucket, the suction might be too much and you may end up with a prolapsed uterus. With regulating the suction by hand, you must pump the holes on the regular vacuum attachment junction like you are playing the flute.

I know what you're thinking: "why not use the tips of the suction tubing as is?". You could, those tips are rounded and would not perforate your uterine lining, but they are harder to insert and will not go in smoothly into the cervix. If you do manage to insert them, the holes they have are very small and are meant to aspire liquid and not tissue, so chunks of tissue will get stuck in those holes. You will feel the suction stop working when they are clogged, in which case (in order to remove that which clogged it) you must keep the vacuum pressure on while removing the cannula so the whole clump gets dislodged. Inspect the finding, it might be just what you wanted out (it should look just like a pealed seeded grape). If it is not the fetus, then clean the holes, sterilize with isopropyl, air dry, and go again.
Attempting a self D&C at home is risky, but carrying it to term is much worse. With the current political climate some states in the USA will not even give you a D&C a the hospital if you are hemorrhaging and will instead let you bleed to death. While it is never preferrable to use this DIY method, aspirating your own uterus at home might be the only way it can get done for you to survive.
